Eddie and Jen got married at Purdue University a few weeks ago. It’s certainly winter here now so I’m sharing this one before I share others that I should have shared a long time ago. It was a great day even if the temperatures were low we had a lot of fun shooting thier Purdue Memorial Union, Ross Ade Stadium and Mackey Arena wedding. Jen was the first bride to ever come to me before she was even engaged. She really cared about the photography and that means so much to me. A few months later, Eddie popped the question, they figured out the date, and here we are. I love shooting in the snow if it’s not too cold out. A perfect winter day has the most magical light. Although it’s not always comfortable to be out in, it certainly does make for some beautiful photos. So, if anyone is brave out there and wants a winter wedding, I would be thrilled to be your photographer.
Thanks to Jen, Eddie and their wonderful family and friends. It was an awesome day and I had a lot of fun. Also, Elizabeth…thanks for everything as always and getting us into Mackey 🙂 Much appreciated.
Ross Ade Stadium is a great venue for weddings and receptions at Purdue University. I have been shooting weddings there for many years at this point and I think it is one of the best reception venues in the area. The staff is fantastic, friendly, and really do whatever it takes to make your day special. It also has one of the largest rooms in the area which is awesome if you have a really large guest list. I even wrote a blog detailing Ross Ade and the other options available at Purdue here: Purdue University Weddings and Engagements
Yes. I know…it’s been a long time since I put up a blog. These last few months have been extremely busy with traveling, weddings and engagements. I’m going to try to get a few of these online here on the blog as soon as I can but the next few months are just as busy. Emily and George are getting married at a beautiful opera house next year and we had a great time shooting their Turkey Run engagement session a few weeks ago as autumn was just starting to set in. While we were there, I realized that I once, tubed (is that a word?) many years ago, down this creek. I am seriously beginning to fall in love with Turkey Run State Park. After shooting a wedding here this last summer, and this engagement session in the fall. I’m pretty sure it’s beautiful all year round. Who’s up for a winter outdoor engagement session? Hit me up!
A little late but it’s been a busy summer. Mary and Justin had their Finkbiner Barn Wedding earlier this summer and it was a blast. It was crazy windy out so the ceremony was even more fun than usual. Hair was everywhere and they couldn’t light their unity candles even with four people surrounding them trying to block the wind. Everyone laughed and the day went on without a hitch, the way all weddings should. It’s important to not take things so seriously, and just relax, and Mary and Justin did just that. This was the first time that I had shot at the Finkbiner Barn and I really think they have a great setup. You should check them out if you are planning anything nearby!
