We made our way around West Lafayette and Purdue for Liz and Joe’s engagement session last weekend. We had a lot of fun…mosquitos be damned! We also had a pretty killer sunset that evening, which made up for the bugs. I knew that Liz and Joe would be fun after we first met, and they didn’t disappoint. It’s so nice to be around people that don’t take themselves that seriously. The just have a great time with each other enjoy each other’s humor so much. I’ve seen a lot of that lately, and it’s certainly a pleasure to work with these kind of lovely human beings. Thanks guys. I can’t wait to shoot your wedding.

Saturday was a pretty fantastic day. It’s not very often that I can walk from my studio, to a wedding ceremony and the wedding reception! Grant and Kelsey were married at their church, Clear River, surrounded by their family and some amazing friends. I have shot a lot of weddings, and I’m always amazed by the relationships between people. Not just the bride and groom, but the bridal party as well. I know that I have said it before, but a group of friends, praying for their loved ones, right before they walk down the aisle, is a pretty fantastic thing. I happened to be in the bride’s room, when my assistant, Sara, captured the beautiful picture below, as Grant’s groomsmen, prayed for him. You can pose people all that you want, but real moments, like these, are the most powerful.
The reception, was held at Ratpak Venue, downtown. Seems like I have been there a lot lately. The Bluewater Kings Band did a fabulous job, as always, keeping the guests on the dance floor, all evening. Thanks to Ali and Hannah, from Wisthuff Events, for making the day run so smoothly! It was great meeting you both.
Grant and Kelsey, thanks for asking me to be your photographer. I had a blast! You are both so very kind and funny. I truly appreciate it.
